When it comes to your friends, do you want their results? Have you ever heard the saying "you are who you hang out with?".... Right now, take a trip down memory lane and think back to the friends you had in elementary school? Junior High? High School? College? Are you still friends with them today?
As the saying goes "people come in your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime"...Looking back, I thought I had some people in my life for a lifetime, but it ended up only for a 'reason'. On the other hand, I have some people that I thought were a season, and now I see them as a lifetime!
The moral of the story is, enjoy the life that happens in front of you, and realize everything happens for a reason! Sometimes things go the way they go, but if you relax and go with the flow, you'll enjoy the ride more than trying to make it go your way.

Can you imagine going on an adventure in uncharted territory with a compass? As you set out to go from A – Z, you make your plan, set your compass and start walking. As you venture down your path and journey, you’re putting one step in front of the other; being aware of the weather, how you feel, and your conditions, but how often do you check and see if you’re on course?
People who are successful are constantly checking in to see how they’re doing. What is good? What isn’t good? What can you improve on and what can you learn from?
One of my favorite sayings is, “Success is a Journey, Not a Destination”….this is one of the greatest sayings that made such an impact on my life. I used to live in “Someday I’ll”….’someday I’ll have the money for that’ …’someday I’ll be able to afford that’. When I realized that ‘success is a journey, not a destination’, I started enjoying ‘where I was’ vs. waiting for ‘someday I’ll’….

- It's easier to settle for average
than strive for achievement!
- It's easier to be saturated with complacency
than stirred with compassion.
- It's easier to be skeptical
than successful.
- It's easier to question
than conquer.
- It's easier to rationalize your disappointments
than realize your dreams.
- It's easier to belch the baloney
than bring home the bacon.

If you're like most people (me!) when it comes to exercising and losing weight, you're waiting for those days where you can block 2 HOURS out of your day for exercising! Well, as we know, THAT never happens, and time just goes on by and we are gaining a pound here and a pound there! Here are just a few tips that you can start right now! When YOU feel different you will take and make different decisions, so start TODAY! 1. When the shower is warming up, do push ups! If you get hot water quick, maybe you'll only have time for 8 push ups, but 8 push ups is better is than nothing! Did you know that push ups use every upper body muscle you have! (That's why they are so hard!) If you have a shower like mine, you'll have time for 3 sets of 12! ;) Remember, as you do push ups, do them correctly! You might do less correctly, vs. more not so good, but it is important to do them RIGHT! Hands should be should width apart and knees or feet should be hip distant apart. Be sure to bring your body all the way down to the floor (not touching, but close) and then back up! (full range of motion is best for your muscles!) If a push up like this is too hard, you can do them against the wall to start, but plan on moving to the floor SOON! =)

The time has come to take care of the only body you have! Health, fitness, better looks and more importantly better results with your blood tests! Don't wait to get the news from the Dr. that things are NOT good! The time to lose weight is NOW! Here are some SMALL steps that you can start making RIGHT NOW that will make a HUGE change by June 30th! 1. Start drinking more water! Ideally you should drink 1/2 your body weight in oz., but if that is too overwhelming, just start drinking more water! You pick the number of oz but start TODAY! 2. If you're a soda drinker, start replacing the 'soda' with SODA WATER. It will give you the same 'fizzle' without the harmful toxins (and sugars) that are in sodas! Save that Diet Coke/Coke for a special occasion; you'll appreciate it more anyway!

Doesn’t it seem like we just did this? Where did the time go? You know….365 days, 12 months, 52 weeks and 8760 hours! Where did they go? They are behind us; but what matters is what is ahead of us!
Every day, every year, we have to make the choice and decision with what we do with our time. Time is the most precious asset we have, and with the NEW YEAR upon us, I am sure you already have some hefty resolutions for yourself, or, maybe you’re beating yourself up for the resolutions you never carried through on from last year? Is your weight where it was a year ago, or worse? Is your health the same or worse as it was a year ago? Maybe you’re one of those ‘less than 2%’ who actually made a change during this past year?
In 1984 I made a significant decision, and that was to change my eating habits and lack of exercise habits, and I lost 70lb. In 1989 I made the decision to get out of an abusive relationship. And in 2002 I made the choice and decision to make something out of my life and get into a position financially where I could give back.

One Step At A Time… Last week Dan and the 3 boys and I spent a few days up in Flagstaff, AZ enjoying some cooler weather. On Friday, we decided to launch out on a 5 mile hike up a trailed mountain. Although the trail was obvious, there were big rocks, sticks, and at times it was very steep terrain.
As the boys were hiking (being 8, 11, and 12) it was constant effort on my part to either keep them moving, pay attention to where they were stepping, or to stay focused on where they were going. All I could think about as a mom was...

Happy New Year!! 2009? 2010? A new year filled with resolutions, high hopes for change, high hopes for weight loss, and high hopes for a NEW and improved LIFE!
After the hang over wore off, it was time to get "serious". You were motivated, you were excited, and you were EAGER for change; so what happened?
It got too hard! Let's just face it! You gave up! You quit! You said 'nevermind'. You started to justify why you didn't have to pursue your dreams. You started blaming everything and everyone around you on why YOU quit! Did you last a week? A month or just a day? Same story, different year?

What’s your outcome as of right now? In other words, what are your results?
Financially? Do you have the amount of money in the bank that you wanted at this age? Is your annual income what you want it to be?
Time Freedom? Do you have the time freedom you want, or are you always missing out because work takes you away from living? Do you spend time the way you want to and with who you want to?
Relationships?Who are the people that surround you and your life? Are they people who have what you want? As the saying goes, “do what they’ve done and you’ll get what they got!”

Where is the balance? Many people today feel like they have absolutely no control over their lives! The effects of the economy are devastating to everyone who allows it to be. I believe it's a choice! You can buy in to what the media talks about or you can choose to make yourself immune to the effects of what's going on around you.
What are your thoughts on this subject? Be careful before you think about it too much, because did you know it's your ‘thoughts' that will ultimately determine your results? Do you think you're destined for greatness, or do you think you have absolutely no control over your life and the effects of the economy are devastating your relationships, your income potential and your future?
It's a known fact that during an economic downfall, millionaires are made! When typical corporations are failing, there are companies that are THRIVING! It's during times like these that victims become victors of success and thrive; but it all starts with how you think!

30 Days of Actions and Results all start with our Thoughts and Feelings!
Results!!! What are the results that we want? -Lose weight! -Fit into those jeans once and for all! -Look good! -Feel good! -Financial freedom! -Confidence!
The real question is, how bad do you want it? On a scale of 1-10, 1 not really, 10 YES! Where are you? When you think about the RESULTS, it's easy to think ‘I'm a 10'! When it comes to the ‘work' involved to GET IT, it's easy to get complacent! Want a secret? Do you want me to tell you how to trick your mind so you can stay motivated? What I'm about to share with you, is not really a secret! It's been practiced by successful people forever; the question is, after I share the secret with you, will you do it?

30 Days to a New ME
Oh the success stories! They are powerful, and motivating, especially when they are ours! Successful people make everything look so easy! All we see is "ta-da! They lost 20 lbs". or "ta-da, they are wealthy!" It seems so simple from the outside, but what does it really take?
I've seen a little bit of success so far, so I want to share with you what I've learned!
* Commitment! Making a decision to stick with your plan, for a certain amount of time, no matter what! In our quest for a ‘new me' in just 30 days! No excuses! Quitting can't be an option! Give me your commitment for 30 days!

Time is the most valuable asset we have...yet most people waste it and spend it!
If I had a penny for every time someone asked me "how do you do it?"...I would be beyond wealthy! The question is, how do I do it? Before I give you specific ‘tips', I want to give you the foundation of time management and in future articles I will build on it!
I have 4 boys, only 3 live in the house (2nd grade, 4th grade and 5th grade), and Will is living on his own. My husband works 20 days a month...in Dallas, TX, we live in Phoenix, AZ. I'm a ‘single mom' for almost 3 weeks out of the month! I have 3 businesses, 2 of which bring in a six-figure income and within those businesses I travel at least 2-3 weekends of every month!

If you haven't had the privilege of meeting my dogs, I want to tell you all about them! The reality is, you already know ONE of them, because YOUR personality IS one of them!
4 yrs ago, my boys came to me and said what most kids do at one point "We want a dog!"... My response was, "no way! I am tapped out on living-breathing responsibility"!!! They begged and pleaded as all kids seem to be trained to do, and I said "ok...(wait! I'm not that much of a softy!) we will get a dog, as long as the following criteria is met!"

I have lost more than 225 lbs and I've managed to keep it off! Ok, so not all at the same time, but let's just say, I'm an expert at gaining weight, and I'm an expert at LOSING weight!
I grew up with parents who were chefs! They loved to cook, and I loved to eat! As a kid we never ate dinner before 8 or 9pm, and I had a taste for rich sauces, and nothing was bare to say the least! My appreciation for good food started very early in life, and by the age of 19, I weighed 210lbs!

How to recognize and evaluate success in your everyday life
Have you ever wanted to walk up to that gorgeous house, pound on the front door and yell "What do you do?" When you're driving down the road and you see someone driving that gorgeous car that very few can afford to drive, do you ever think ‘I wonder what in the world they do?'
Does your mind go into justification and assume ‘must be old money', or ‘I wonder who gave that to them'...or ‘they're so lucky'... How many times have you ever thought this ‘that a person has really learned how to overcome adversity or an obstacle and make it happen".
